On October 12, 2019, in Baileyton, Alabama, 3-year-old Alvaro Garcia and his 9-year-old brother, Taylor Garcia, were found deceased in their home on County Road 1718. Their mother, 32-year-old Sara Franco Tapia, was discovered in a nearby field with self-inflicted injuries and a knife in her possession. She was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Following her recovery, Tapia was charged with two counts of capital murder. In February 2020, a grand jury indicted her on these charges. ...Read More
