A former firefighter is found shot to death
The former Seattle firefighter and Washington State Ferries worker was found dead in a Sixth Avenue home, the victim of 22 stab wounds to the head, chest and abdomen. The one that punctured his lung ended his life. Police said a tape deck and AM/FM radio was taken from the home though little else was disturbed inside; the case was investigated initially as a burglary-murder. Hellie, born in Canada, was born in Alberta, Canada and was a quiet, “pleasant” neighbor who didn’t own a phone.
