On October 12, 1986, 21-year-old Rebecca Ann "Becky" Dowski, a senior at the College of William and Mary, was found murdered along with her girlfriend, Cathleen Thomas, on the Colonial Parkway in York County, Virginia. The two women were discovered in Thomas's vehicle at the Cheatham Annex Overlook, a secluded area. Both victims had been strangled, and their throats were slashed.
