A man is discovered murdered behind the Forest Hills Sotre
On April 19, 1980, the body of 29-year-old Jan Rhein was discovered near the Winooski River in Winooski, Vermont, behind what was then the Forest Hills department store. A fisherman stumbled upon Rhein's body in the parking area of the store. An autopsy revealed that Rhein had been shot, and his death was classified as a homicide. Investigators believe he may have been killed in the days leading up to the discovery.
