Raul Resendez, age 46, was fatally shot on March 17, 2011, during an attempted robbery outside a convenience store in southwest Houston, Texas. The incident took place near a Conoco gas station located at Bissonnet and Synott. Resendez was drinking with a group of men when two suspects approached them, attempting to rob them at gunpoint. During the altercation, Resendez was shot in the chest. He was quickly transported to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.
The two suspects, identified as Tyreon Young, 17, and Patrick Sharard Guillory, 22, were subsequently charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting. Court records show that Guillory was held without bail, while Young remained at large for a period before eventually being apprehended. Witnesses reported that Young called them after the incident to ensure that they would not disclose details about the crime.
