On May 19, 2014, 60-year-old Horace Jackson was shot and killed in his Southeast Houston home. The incident took place late at night, and Jackson’s brother was also present inside the house at the time of the shooting. According to initial reports, several shots were fired, leading to Jackson being critically injured. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Jackson succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, fled the scene before police could arrive, leaving few immediate leads for investigators.
Following the incident, the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division, in collaboration with Crime Stoppers of Houston, appealed to the public for assistance in solving this case. They offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. However, the case remains unsolved, highlighting it as one of many unsolved homicides in Houston. Authorities have continued to seek community support, urging anyone with information to step forward through Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tip line to help bring justice to Jackson's family.
