Ernesto “Ernie” Rodriguez, a 26-year-old Hispanic male from Fort Worth, Texas, tragically lost his life on March 2, 2015. Ernesto was a beloved son, husband, and father, survived by his parents, Juan Rodriguez and Maria Elena Ojeda, his wife, Sofia Rodriguez, and his children, Ernesto Rodriguez, Elijah Rodriguez, and Brianna Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his siblings, Andres Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, and Jocelyn Rodriguez.
His passing deeply affected his family and community, who gathered to honor his memory at Carrillo Funeral Home in Fort Worth, followed by a burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Reports indicate that he was shot by Damien Ray Torres, a teenager who had recently been paroled after serving five years of a 30-year sentence for a previous murder. Torres had been convicted for a shooting in 2009 that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl. Despite his early release in August 2014, Torres was soon implicated in another fatal incident. Authorities arrested Torres on March 10, 2015, in connection with Ernesto Rodriguez’s murder.
