On July 2, 2016, Marcus Jacques Proctor, aged 42, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on the 3300 block of Jewel Street. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots around 2:05 a.m., after which they saw a red Hyundai crash into a parked vehicle nearby. Proctor was discovered inside the vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the rapid response of emergency services, Proctor succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
