Do you know who murdered Natasia Mosley in 2009?
On a Sunday in early May of 2009, the body of twenty-two-year-old Natasia Mosley, a female, was discovered behind the American Legion Post on East End Street in Columbia, Tennessee. An investigation revealed she had been shot multiple times in what authorities described as an execution-style killing. The weapon used was possibly a rifle. For years, the case remained unsolved, listed among the city's cold cases as detectives continued to seek justice for Mosley and her family.
After an extensive eight-year investigation involving the Columbia Police Department, the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the District Attorney's office, a breakthrough occurred in 2017. A grand jury handed down indictments for three men in connection with Natasia Mosley's murder. One of the men indicted was identified as 34-year-old Leoma resident Christopher Johnson. Another individual, Quinton Deshawn Mostella, was also charged in her death.
The investigation revealed that one of the co-defendants, Christopher Johnson, had a prior romantic relationship with Mosley and had offered her a ride on the night she was killed. Quinton Deshawn Mostella was driving the vehicle in which Johnson and Mosley left that night. In 2019, Mostella entered a guilty plea to the charge of facilitation of first-degree murder, and in exchange, the charge of first-degree murder against him was dismissed. The court stipulated that Mostella was not in possession of the firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the murder.
