On August 4, 2007, Joseph Yang, a 17-year-old, was killed in Fresno, California. This homicide remains one of the unsolved cases in the area. Fresno has a history of gang-related violence, and numerous homicide cases like Yang’s are unsolved due to the challenges that law enforcement faces in securing evidence and witnesses. Yang's case is representative of many of the cold cases in Fresno where lack of cooperation from witnesses and absence of tangible leads have impeded progress.
