On June 6, 1982, Richard Hayes, a 75-year-old resident of Franklin, Ohio, was found dead in his home located at 16 East Fifth Street. The homicide occurred during the early morning hours when unknown individuals entered the residence, which had recently been sold and was in the process of being prepared for new owners.
