Jose Enrique Castro-Aldana, aged 24, was tragically killed in a fire that occurred on September 12, 2004, at an apartment complex located at 600 Lynwood Lane in Columbus, Ohio. The fire broke out during the night, waking residents as people screamed and pounded on doors trying to warn others of the danger. Despite efforts to escape, ten individuals, including Castro-Aldana, lost their lives in this tragic event.
