Justin Miller, a 25-year-old resident of Delaware, Ohio, was killed on November 2, 2007, in Columbus. Miller was working as the district manager of Heartland Cash Advance and was conducting his regular check-ins at one of the stores. After leaving the store on Cleveland Avenue around 7:30 p.m., he was attacked in the parking lot. A suspect, described by witnesses as wearing all black and being between 5'6" and 6'0" tall, approached Miller and shot him at close range.
The assailant then proceeded to shoot Miller three additional times in the chest after he had fallen to the ground.
