On July 27, 2009, North E. Woodall, an 85-year-old decorated war veteran, was found murdered in his home at 1028 Walton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Woodall, who had served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retired as a sergeant major in the U.S. Army, and was highly respected in his community.
