On July 9, 1970, Oscar Wright was found lying in the street on East Whittington Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, after being shot. Police responded to the scene around 11:10 p.m. Wright was immediately transported to Moses Cone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
