Alonzo Lyles, aged 46, was killed on September 1, 2012, in Detroit, Michigan. His death was one of the many homicides that occurred in Detroit during a time when the city was experiencing a significant rise in violent crime. Detroit recorded 386 homicides in 2012, an increase of over 12% from the previous year, and Alonzo Lyles' case was unfortunately among those that have remained unsolved.
