Jeffrey Hagler, 39, was found dead on June 20, 2016, in a Detroit alley. His body was discovered in the trunk of a white Buick Century, beaten and shot three times. The tragic discovery went viral on social media after a passerby photographed the scene, which showed Hagler's arm hanging from the trunk. The images spread rapidly, leading Hagler's father, Jeff Davis, to learn of his son’s death through social media. Just hours before the murder, Hagler had spent Father’s Day with his father.
