On August 17, 2015, Alexander Elizares, a 31-year-old man from Oakland, California, was shot multiple times near the intersection of 45th Avenue and Bancroft in East Oakland. Despite the violent attack, Elizares managed to make it a few blocks away before succumbing to his injuries.
