Thomas Johnson, a 16-year-old Black male from Baltimore, was shot in the first hours of Aug. 11, 2017, in the Belair-Edison area of northeast Baltimore. Police were called to Chesterfield Avenue near Sinclair Lane at about 12:57 a.m. for a reported shooting, and the wounded teenager was taken to a hospital. Even as he fought for his life, he refused to tell investigators who had shot him, and he later died from his injuries.
