On May 22, 2019, Ronnie Jacobs Jr., a 33-year-old man, was found dead in College Park, Maryland, near the University of Maryland campus. The incident occurred early in the morning around 6 a.m., when Prince George's County police responded to reports of an unresponsive man in the 8700 block of Rhode Island Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Jacobs lying near a park bench he frequently used for sleeping. He had suffered from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
