Alejandro Sanchez Herrera, a 28-year-old resident of San Bernardino, was tragically killed on August 10, 2016, in a fatal shooting at a city intersection. He was sitting in his vehicle when the shooting occurred, and although paramedics quickly transported him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident marked San Bernardino's 43rd homicide of the year, during a period when the city was grappling with a significant surge in violence.
Despite ongoing investigations, details surrounding the motive for the shooting remain unclear, and it is believed that Herrera may have been an unintended target, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
